Her: Part 6
(Her: Parts 1-5 posted on my profile!)
I stayed awake for the rest of that night. Even when my dad came home and She left, I was too scared to close my eyes, much less go to sleep. I lay in my bed wide awake as the hours ticked by slower than molasses in the wintertime. The next morning, around six o'clock, I decided to get up and call Cal. I couldn't wait any longer. I had to tell someone my experience the night before, I had to tell someone about Her. I picked up my phone to call Cal, but suddenly I doubted he would believe me. I hesitated, wondering if this could be his last straw. If this would finally convince him that I was insane. Was it worth it? Was it worth possibly losing my best friend for this? I thought about it for a moment, but in the end I reasoned that if I didn't get help soon, if I didn't tell anyone about Her, She could and would do even more evil than She had already done. If I didn't tell anyone, if I was the only one who knew, She could never be stopped. I hit the call button on Cal's contact, and my phone dialed his number and began ringing. I took a deep breath.
"Hello?" Cal said. I sighed. I didn't want to do this.
"Hey Cal," I said cautiously.
"What's up? Is something wrong?" I smiled. He could tell even through the static of the phone that I was distressed.
"Cal," I said, closing my eyes, "I have to tell you something."
"What is it?" he asked. I could hear the worry in his tone.
"I know you're going to think I'm insane, but I promise you this happened, Cal. Please believe me. Please," I said, my voice beginning to quiver.
"Bree what's wrong? What happened?" Cal asked again. I took another deep breath.
"She's a monster, Cal," I whispered. There was silence on the other end of the line.
