The waitress' eyes grew wide at the crumpled paper the woman had handed with the money.
"Help," it read.
When she looked up, the woman was gone....

as if she had vanished into thin air. The diner's fluorescent lights flickered ominously, casting eerie shadows across the linoleum floor.

Shivers ran down the waitress's spine as she carefully unfolded the paper. It was a napkin, greasy and stained with lipstick. The handwritten plea for help seemed to pulse with desperation.

"What the hell?" she muttered under her breath, glancing around the empty diner. It was well past closing time, and she was the only one left. She crumpled the napkin in her hand, her heart pounding in her chest.

As she locked up the diner and stepped out into the chilly night, a sense of unease settled over her. The street was deserted, and a thick fog rolled in, obscuring the dimly lit storefronts. She quickened her pace, the hairs on the back of her neck standing on end.

Suddenly, a rustling noise echoed from the alleyway beside the diner. The waitress froze, her breath catching in her throat. Peering into the darkness, she saw a figure emerging from the shadows. It was the woman from the diner, her eyes wild with fear.

"Please, you have to help me," the woman gasped, grabbing the waitress's arm with trembling hands. "They're coming for me. I don't have much time."

Before the waitress could respond, a low, guttural growl reverberated through the alley. A pair of glowing eyes pierced the darkness, and a monstrous shape lunged at them from the shadows. The waitress and the woman stumbled backward, their screams echoing through the deserted streets.

As the creature closed in, the waitress's mind raced. What had she stumbled into? How was she going to survive this nightmarish encounter?

Just as the creature's claws slashed through the air, the waitress's hand brushed against something in her pocket. It was the crumpled napkin. With a surge of adrenaline, she remembered the message it bore: "Help."

In a split-second decision, she thrust the napkin toward the creature. To her astonishment, the glowing eyes softened, and the creature halted in its tracks. It let out a mournful whimper before retreating back into the darkness.

The woman's eyes widened in disbelief as the waitress turned to her, her voice steady and resolute. "Run," she commanded. "I'll hold it off."

The woman hesitated for a moment before nodding and sprinting into the night. Left alone in the eerie silence, the waitress watched the fog swallow the woman's form, the events of the evening spiraling beyond her comprehension.

As she made her way home, the waitress couldn't shake the feeling that she had stumbled into something far darker and more mysterious than she could have ever imagined. But one thing was clear: she had unwittingly unlocked a world of secrets and horrors that lurked just beneath the surface of her seemingly ordinary town.
