I humbly got out of the car to get the full picture of this 'abode' mom and dad bragged about and frankly,

I was impressed.

"So what do you think?" Mother gaped happily and proudly, doe eyed.

I just stared at the lady.

Dad and she then took small steps forward as they stared in amazement at their prize and the invisible but imminent destruction of my ego or pride.

An arm was thrown over mom's shoulder, a kiss touched her forehead and smiles were stretched to fulfilment by my dear parents.

"Oh finally you're here!" Spoke up a random woman that suddenly came out of the door of the house, clad in a formal beige lady suit.

My parents and the contractor, the weird lady from earlier, were discussing relevant matters in the dining room as I unloaded the last of the baggage from the car. The rest of it was coming from a truck in about half an hour.

With the free time on my hands, I decided to take a tour of this 'abode'. Rather like a national park.

Tall dense trees lingered like a backdrop behind the modern-styled wooden house. At the front yard grew a house of yellow wildflowers by the hedge. Right at the end of the chic lushy-edged wide avenue towards the house was a round small lot with gravel crusting.

Further away was just a forest and a winding road that ended blindly.

"Take a walk around sweetie." Mom said from the porch with a soft grin, "Get to know your new neighbourhood."

"Yeah sure." I replied curtly before I paced slowly but steadily tracking along the road.

As I gazed around, all I could see was dense trees, birds mating like it's no-one's...
