the man behind the corner
#WritcoStoryChallenge
The letter carried brief instructions: 'Meet me at the corner of the street', it read. But who was it from? Was it from a person I am familiar with or someone completely unknown? Why not check out? I gather up all my confidence and go, I wait for hours and hours, I lean at the wall, sit on the ground, as the silence doesn't break, no one comes. Was I so curious about a person, that might not even exist? I kick my feet, as I start humming a song while waiting. The beautiful sky darkening, as the stars appear ever so slightly.. Until a bright half moon is standing upon me. The light catching my gaze, I look up at it, as I start dreaming 'Oh, I just want to be loved' was repeating in that head of mine, as I close my eyes shut... My lonely interaction with the stars, was interrupted by a figure standing in front of me. It was a tall man, well, slightly taller than me, with a brownish nude colored sweather, which had a shirt collar. His pants were baggy, olive greenish color, maybe a little lighter. He smelled like vanilla and some sweat mixed together, the smell was intoxicating, but not in an unpleasant way. His grown out hair, covering his beautiful eyes ever so lightly, as I open my eyes and move my gaze to him, I recognize him. A man, who I have loved for 2 years, but I have given up on. 'You are late' I say to him, waiting for a reaction, a word from him. He nods his head, before just hugging me. It was a tight hug, comforting and warm... His arms wrapped around me as he moved hair out of my face, burrying his face in my shoulder, all I heard out of his lips was 'I love you'...
