He fell for her the moment he saw her at the pool party. She was glorious. He was unremarkable. How could he approach her?

He had been watching her all evening as she swam like a dolphin. She was rising, falling and somersaulting through the water. Everyone else had long left the pool. The party was winding down. This was his chance.

He walked towards the edge of the pool and tipped a toe in the water. He was not comfortable when it came to talking to girls. His friend had invited him to this party to encourage him.

"Practice makes perfect."he had said.

Yet he was standing there with nothing to say. He watched as she swam by. Then she turned, kicked from the wall and headed back his way.

He panicked knowing she would wonder why he was standing there staring longingly at her. He dived into the pool and sank like a stone to the bottom. It was a stupid move since he didn't know how to swim.

Luckily she noticed that fact and swam to him. She grabbed him up into her arms and pulled him to the surface. He came up with her sputtering and gasping.

"Oh my god. Are you okay?"her eyes searched his with concern.

"Now that I am in your arms, yes I am."

She looked angry for a moment and then she smiled."So diving into a pool when you can't swim is a good idea?"

"Practice makes perfect."he replied. "Will you teach me?"

His heart soared when she laughed and replied. "I guess I had better."
