See a preview of the storybook ‘Tortoise and the Animal Kingdom’ below:
A long time ago, in the land of the animals, there lived a lion who was the King. Elephant was his bodyguard while other animals including the birds were his servants. Since the lion was the King, he was not allowed to do any work in the kingdom.
Though Elephant looked bigger than King Lion, he enjoyed serving King Lion because he shared with the King whatever food was brought to the Kingdom. With his big ears, Elephant fanned King Lion every morning, afternoon and evening. Whenever there was a meeting in the palace, it was Elephant who blew the trumpet.
Dog was the Chief Security Officer of King Lion. He warned King Lion and other animals about the visit of any stranger to the palace. When Dog heard the hunter’s gunshots, he would bark and all the animals would run to their hiding places. Cat, King Lion’s cousin, was another vigilant guard in the palace. With his bright eyes, he protected the stores where the bulk of the food; sacks of rice and beans were stored. While Cat was the palace guard, all the birds were the stewards. They helped Queen Lioness in the kitchen. Sometimes, they gathered fruits for the palace store. At other times, they fetched water for Queen Lioness who did all the cooking with the help of Sow, Pig’s fat wife.
Worms tilled the soil in the garden while all the snakes planted the grains. Ants were too tiny to do any difficult job, so Queen Lioness asked them to gather the grains of food that other animals dropped during meals.. please i am really sorry if you really interested in more of those stor please support me
