The Quaint Bookstore
Its bright orange blue signboard could be seen from a kilometre away. The rustic looking store stood out from the others as it was the only one not restored.
As I approached the entrance, a whiff of romance ushered my presence. It was very nostalgic as it reminded me of my younger days. I stood there reminiscing every moment stitched in sweet wonderful memories which brought back cherished times when someone very special was about to enter my life. I was transported back twenty years ago.
I was a big fan of a famous fashion magazine so I would always browse it every fortnight at the bookstore. I would go to the store a few times a week to look through the whole magazine without purchasing it. There was when I was caught red-handed by the manager of the store.
When he began interrogating me, I could only stay silent as I was guilty as charged. I looked straight into his eyes, pleading in silence to be freed. To my astonishment, he let me go. Then miracle happened. He asked me out on a date. The rest is history. But we were not destined to be together as we separated after 3 years.
The tinkling of the metal wind chime at the entrance broke my dreamy state of nostalgia. A smile of amusement ended my short time travel. I, then entered the store for the last time.
