If I could walk through that house today , in the back of my mind I’d still see papa’s old chair and my aunt Betty sitting in it. Her legs crossed swinging her foot so fast, so excited that the handicap bus is coming to pick her up and take her to her special school. A added bonus to her day because she was leaving the house.

For Betty to get away from “mama” for a little while was far more fulfilling to her then even the tallest glass of sweetened iced tea.

I can close my eyes all these years later and still see "Nanny" sitting in that rocking chair with her leg extended and raised from the floor. Slowly sipping on her fresh glass of sweetened ice tea as she rocked to and fro. I could only see her white curls creeping from the sides of the enourmous readers digest, but when she rarely peeped outside the edges of the article her face was giant from her magnafine glass looking towards me.sitting in the floor magnifying glass.

Gathering around the television on a Saturday nights to watch the “progrums.” Amen at 8pm!, then two two seven!. After that the Golden Girls at 9 followed by Empty Nest. If I was lucky I got to stay...
