a ray of LIGHT....
I looked everywhere around me, left and right; back and forth and all I could see is thorns abound. I see wilted flowers, long perished with no hope of ever blooming.
Deafening is the sound of their plea for help; Palpable is their feeling of agony.
All hope seems to be lost, and then I felt a watery drop on my knee only to realize it was from a stray tear...I was sobbing.
Nay,
I wiped away any sign of despair. I shan't give up, NEVER, there has to be a ray of light at the end of my tunnel. I sucked in a deep breath, gathered every ounce of strength and willpower I had left in me and stood tall, rising from my knee and making a promise as well as a mental note never ever to fall back on my knees.
There's no room for weakness, no looking back... I've got this.
I gazed across the filled once more, this tiny hope in me and Alas, there it was. A faint sign of life, a ray of hope. It was there alright -my hope multiplied folds- almost completely covered by the wilted flowers and thorns but I could see it trying to blossom, struggling to be noticed, just ripe to be plucked.
Alas, m glad I rose from my knees, For how could I have seen this treasure downcast on my knees, with gloom; feeling melancholic.
With new found strength, i surged to claim my treasure; the ultimate price, carefully threading my way across. For once I have it, I am going to change this little world around me into the paradise it once was........
