Not Sending A Text
"You didn't call. You didn't text. Nothing." Gizelle was about to burst into tears.
"I wanted to, but I don't know what kept me from doing it," Clark shrugged and moved a few inches away from her.
"You should have informed me, at least. If you couldn't call, you could have texted," Gizelle said in a husky voice.
"I was busy. I didn't even get the time to touch my phone," Clark said, trying to pacify her.
"These are just lies. If you wanted to, you would have texted me," Gizelle wasn't ready to accept his excuses.
"Now you're getting on my nerves. I'm telling you, I was busy with my friends and didn't have time to text you. Why can't you understand that?" Clark yelled in frustration.
"What? Little thing? I've been waiting for you since 6:00 p.m. and now it is 1:00 a.m." Her cheeks were soaked with tears.
"I didn't ask you to wait. You should have slept already," he said, still not getting the point.
"Okay. I won't from now on. Move away." Gizelle shoved him aside and rushed toward their room.
Clark followed her and tightly hugged her from behind."I'm sorry. I promise I won't do that again. I know you were worried. One of our friends took our phones and locked them in a locker so we could have quality time together. It happened so quickly that I didn't get a chance to text you, but I was anxious for you as well. Please forgive me."
Gizelle took a deep breath, her tears still flowing. "I understand now, but it really hurt. Please, just let me know next time."
Clark nodded, holding her tighter. "I promise, I will. I never want to make you feel like this again."
Gizelle finally relaxed in his embrace, the tension slowly leaving her body. They stood there for a moment, holding each other, as the weight of the evening's emotions began to lift.
