THE BOOMERANG (3)
:::What goes around...:::

After the "detty December" and yuletide fiesta, the new year has finally dawn and it's reality in check. She must return to her base after her time in the village.

Utang is a very beautiful woman who owns a brothel in Lagos. She makes her money from recruitment of young village girls, turn them to hookers after decieving their unsuspecting parents that she has legal employment opportunities for them. She has been in the business for years.

One of the methods she applies in order to safeguard her businesses and other illegalities is administering diabolical oath of secrecy and loyalty on her "victims". They are forcefully made to swear never to disclose their experience to anyone, not even their parents, and never to disobey their mistress. By this, each time they travel home, they pretend that all is well.

Aside prostitution, Utang is also into surrogacy. She has customers who buy babies from her after being birthed by her "captives". Her customers include politicians and money ritualists who use these babies for their sacrifices. Others include barren women and sterile men who wish to be parents. On one of such ugly occasions, using her loyal dirty jobbers, Utang trickishly seized and sold a one week old baby given birth to by a popular beggar. She pretended to help by offering her a drugged food which knocked her out, allowing Utang and her team to have their way with the baby boy. Not seeing her child when she regained consciousness, the poor beggar slipped into depression and died few months after.

Utang is a strong woman according to people. She got married to one Mr Esu but filed for a divorce three years after for what she termed her husband's "inability to cater for her needs". She is a woman of high taste and sadly, Mr Esu, her estranged husband was just a civil servant with not-so-much money. Not to forget, their three years marriage was blessed with two offsprings, Amba and Ewei. Several years after they divorced, Amba is now 17, while Ewei is 16 and 6months. On a sad note, Mr Esu passed on 5 years after parting ways with his enstranged wife, Utang, which leaves her in total custody of the children.

Utang is tough in nature but she only has one point of weakness...her children. While she derives pleasure in capturing, abusing, and exploiting other people's children, she does everything possible to ensure that hers experience the most palatable life. Amba, her first son is so use to luxury that he is ready to do whatever it takes to stay in cash flow. Since he wasn't getting enough from his mother after they had an altercation when she tried scolding him and his extravagant lifestyle, he decides to abscon to Port Harcourt. After exausting all he had, he decided to join one local baby factory as a donor. As a donor, he is expected to stay permanently in the enclosed environment with all contacts and connections seized.

Ewei, Utang's only daughter was abducted on her way to school few weeks after her brother's disappearance. All efforts to recover her proves abortive. Few months later, news breaks that she has been spotted in a brothel. She works for Afiang. Afiang is a former apprentice of Utang whom she brought from the village. Like Utang would do, Ewei has been forcefully administered the diabolical oath of secrecy and loyalty. One of the terms is that she must give birth to at least three babies that must be sold out before she regains her freedom.

Utang cannot even report the incidence to the police because she will get herself implicated... She is into the same business and she is only reaping from the seed she sowed. Now she has lost her two sources of strength. She now takes into heavy drinking...the world is no longer enjoyable...next, she slips into depression and opts for suicide.

So many options in her mind... fuel, sniper, rope, free fall from a tower?...no! One day, after gulping enough gin which puts her in delirium tremens, she jumps into an on-coming trailers carrying hundreds of bags of cement. She was crushed to pieces.

Do you now believe that karma exists? Utang, the happening mama got her own share...SHE WAS BOOMERANGED!
