Ravi and Rahul are known as DEFECTIVE DETECTIVES!

One day Ravi and Rahul were reading a book of horror and mystery. Ravi said “just see how the extraordinary detective Fercule Piorot solved the mystery case of the Golden Mirror.”
“yes! And we both are just like him, solving cases is a child’s play for us!” Rahul replied.
A faint voice interrupted their conversation.
“May I come in?”
The voice was of a boy of ten years who brought a new mystery case for the plucky detective to solve.
“Yes please take a seat” answered Ravi.
The boy looked afraid of something. He had a doleful countenance, his pale face reveals the fact that he is troubled by a specter. He held a candy in his hand, but he did not seem interested to taste it. His shoe laces were untied, which shows that he was in a hurry to leave his house.
The boy mumbled “every night when I go to sleep, I hear strange noise under my bed. One day I gathered my courage to peep under the bed, to see who the creature was, but much to my surprise I noticed glowing green eyes and reddish black furry body with huge black nails staring in a vexing look, as if I have done a peccadillo! From this day onwards I never was able to have a balmy sleep at night.”
Ravi and Rahul heard what the boy said. Ravi answered, “well, this seems to be an exciting and interesting case to solve.”
“yes! Just leave everything to us! We will find that nasty culprit under your bed, besides we are the well -known detectives” said Rahul.
A shrieking voice interrupted them, the person was Samhita, Ravi’s younger sister.
“did you just say well known detectives? I guess you’re the well-known defective detectives!”
“stop it Samhita! We both will show you how we will solve the case!” argued Ravi.
By then the little boy said goodbye to them and left.
At night Ravi and Rahul discussed about the case.
“Rahul, what do you think who was hiding under the bed?”
“Ravi, it can be a monster, you know monsters stay under the bed and spook children at night when they sleep.”
“monster? Yup! I’ve heard about them, they even scare me in my dreams!” said Ravi.
“Even I am scared of monsters and apparition, I hope you heard the boy mentioned long nails, glowing green eyes and furry body?”
“And who could that be instead of dangerous blood thirsty monsters?”
“let us solve this case agent Devil Claw” said Rahul breathlessly!
“I am ready Agent Evil Eyes!” answered Ravi anxiously!
They were unaware that they were being followed by Samhita, who was also solving the mystery by herself.
Ravi and Rahul tiptoed to the house of that boy.
“Quick Agent Evil Eyes, let us escape before letting the parents know.”
“Yes Agent Devil Claw, if they come to know about our mission to solve the dangerous case, they will never allow us to go in the dead of the night.”
The little boy welcomed them and showed the room where he saw the creature under the bed.
Ravi and Rahul switched off the lights of the room and sat beside a corner looking terribly shocked and frightened.
After sometime…
“Agent Evil Eyes, are you awake?” asked Rahul.
“Yes Agent Devil Claw, how could I sleep when I’m on a mission to catch a monster?” replied Ravi.
It started raining outside, the wind was howling and the violent thunderstorm made the ambiance spookier.
“You know Agent Devil Claw, I read a story where the monster creeps from under the bed and the lighting strikes and then his evil laughter, echoes everywhere making children startle.”
“Agent Evil Eyes, it was just a story right? It won’t happen for real I guess? You need to stop telling stories now, what if they come true? Your story made my flesh crawl.”
But Ravi continues his story ignoring the words said by Rahul.
“And then he picks the children sleeping in bed and gobbles them like a glutton, the children are helpless and screams to their hearts out for help”
All of a sudden, the window opened and then a black furry looking creature crawled inside the room, its eyes glowing green and fingers with long sharp nails.
“AAA! The monster! The monster has entered, Agent Evil Eyes do something!”
“save us somebody, help! The monster will kill us! Save us somebody!”
And then there was a lightning strike, the wind howling and the monster staring at them.
Suddenly, there came an evil laughter, so loud to wake the dead.
“ha ha ha ha ha!”
“help! We are going to die today! Please save us ! the vicious monster will gobble us today!”
The two boys cried for help!
Then somebody switched on the light and burst out laughing.
“get up you two scaredy cats! The mystery is solved.”
The boys yelled!
“Samhita! Why are you here?”
“If I won’t be here then you two would have died screaming!”
“you mean, you solved the case?”
“yes! Fools! I solved the case, see the monster! Isn’t it cute?”
“The monster was actually a stray dog which have crept from the open window. In the night when the lights were off, its eyes glowed in the darkness and its nails and furry body made you believe that it is a monster.”
“So the person was you who was laughing? We thought it was the monster.” Replied Ravi.
The case was solved and the little boy was grateful to Samhita.
She chuckled, “you both are defective detectives for real” and then she burst out laughing again.
Ravi and Rahul stood there feeling envious.
