Whispers of the Crimson Manor
Chapter-2

Evangeline steele then asked the woman "do you have any problem to sit here while you speak" in a melodious way.
Hearing this the woman nodded as a sign of yes and she asked inspector Sebastian Hawk to have a private room for them to speak and no one should intercept them while they are talking.
He hurriedly asked his companions to set up a room immediately near the Manor. Infront of the door Sebastian set two guards to restrict the visitors or crowds, even any policemen, from entering to it. Sebastian said "I would like to give you my gun but if the woman gets mad and raise it against you then every will reprehend me for giving you this gun. So if you don't mind just have this emergency alarm with you, it will help you at emergency. I think you have understood Evie. Pardon me." Evie nodded as though she understood the circumstance and she also knew he said all these not to protect her but not to get reprehended for this. Then she took the alarm from the disguised helpless hands of Sebastian Hawk.
After taking the alarm Evie and the woman entered into the room. Evie pointed a seat for the woman whose eyes are still filled with tears. Then Evie asked the woman to tell everything as she knows about the family.
The woman wept her eyes with her trembling fingers. She started by introducing herself "I am Dolores and I was the maid of the Crimson Manor for years." After saying these Dolores felt unconscious and suddenly fell onto the desk. Seeing this Evie pressed the emergency alarm and police officers rushed into the room like very strong cyclone blowing the things on its way. She asked for casualty and they called the doctor to check her.
By the time hearing this incident the crowd became panic they shouted and they began to say obscenity relating to the behavior of the police against mentally illed woman. Evie came outside and Inspector told everyone "from today onwards Evie is in charge of the case and we are her crew workers so if you have any queries you can ask her" he glanced towards her and continued "isn't it ma'am Evie?"
Evangeline understood that they are mocking at her. But she knew she could win the case and by sighing deeply she replied "ofcourse for sure you can ask me any questions you want after giving me some more time to understand more about this damn case." The crowd became silent. Those officers who wanted to see disappointment in her eyes got stifled because of her determination she was able to defeat them all so she sweared herself again that she'll reveal what ever the things that are unproved.
She ordered the constable Alexander knight to search for her son immediately and update her if anything has got. But for her disappointment constable replied "ma'am with due respect Dolores doesn't have any son or daughter, she isn't even married. That's why I told you she was mad."
She hurried back to the cottage for meeting her. She asked the doctor "how about her, doctor."
Doctor replied with a sign of disenchantment "sorry to say this. She isn't anymore."
