I looked out the balcony of the hospital, my head filled with worry. It has been years but I still can't cope with the bullets Nick comes home with every time. He keeps risking his life every single time and I can't help but think that one day he won't return alive.
"Genevieve?, are you ok?" I heard a voice say and I jumped in shock before I realized it was Sam my co-worker and friend.
"I'm fine, is there any emergency case?" I asked wondering why he was here.
"No, I actually came to remind you about the conference tomorrow and our flight by 7pm today" he said walking towards the balcony and I looked at him with wide eyes.
"Is the conference tomorrow?" I asked in shock, I was too wrapped up in Nick's whereabouts that I totally forgot I had a conference to attend.
"Yes, did you forget?" Sam asked raising his eyebrow at me. I rushed inside the office and packed my stuff.
"Sam, can you please cover for me, I have to go pack my bags" I said hurriedly before rushing out.

"Are you going somewhere" Nick asked from the bed, he had a bandage around his torso and just looking at it gave me a sick feeling.
" I have a medical conference to go to, it's tomorrow and I totally forgot about it" I said while packing my bag.
"Where is the conference again?" Nick asked
"Wellington, New Zealand" I replied.
"No, no I'm coming with you" he groaned as he stood up.
"No, you are staying here. Why do you want to come along?" I asked him
"The big boss found out about you and how you have been saving me. He moved to Wellington and I didn't think he'd hurt you or anything. If you go alone, there are chances that he'd find you and hurt you because of me so I need to go with you" he said taking the gun he kept under the pillow.

"That would be all for this year's conference. Thank you ladies and gentlemen for your presence and comportment." the director general ended. The conference just ended and Nick kept his word and was currently waiting for me downstairs in the car. Before I could reach the elevator, gunshots were heard and everyone started screaming. I saw the director clutch his chest in pain. I ran towards the stairs and someone grabbed my hand.
" Look babe, it's the big boss. He somehow found out you were here. We need to go now." Nick whispered and with that we ran out of the building.

" On the news today, there was a series of gunshots in Evergreen hotel which led to the death of many doctors who had a conference and many citizens. The police, after a series of investigations, have concluded that the gunshots were from the black snake gang. From a clip caught on the CCTV camera, it is suspected that one of the gang members, Nick Walter, kidnapped a female doctor, Genevieve Smith. If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of these two, please contact the phone numbers below...", I turned off the television annoyed. Nick, somehow, got us fake IDs and we left the country.
"Gen, are you ok?"Nick asked unsurely.
"I'm fine, I just don't understand why the big boss is looking for you. You left that gang a long time ago" I told him, Nick was once part of the gang but he left and ever since then the leader has been looking for him, it seems to have gotten worse now in the sense that they now need me as a bait to get Nick.
"He has a butt load of drugs to bring in and the security has gotten tighter than ever. I was once the best man for the job and now I work solo, he wants me to do the job for him. I mean I'm great at the job..." Nick said and I glared at at him, this was not the time to get cocky.
"But you are not going to do it, right?" I asked because I don't know if he has decided to change his mind or something.
"No I'm not crazy, I know that man like the back of my hand, you do one job and he's going to keep on giving you more" Nick said putting some bullets in his gun.
" So what do we do now?, the police is looking for us" I asked him taking a seat on the bed of the hotel we were staying in.
" I have a plan but I'm not sure if it'll work" Nick sighed
" Well, we don't have any other choice, do we?"

I heard a knock on the door, it was 1 am. I looked around and I couldn't find Nick, maybe he's the one knocking he probably forgot his key. I opened the door only to come face to face with a scary looking man, oh no.
"Hey angel, you are coming with me" he said before covering my nose with a handkerchief and everything went black.
