The Devil's trinkets
#WritcoRapidPrompt1
Write a short story from your past that involves light or darkness in some way.
Have you ever been caught at a crossroads?
This is the day I conquered the brash impulses of anger.
It was a think-fast, quick to dodge affair between the boys, as pebbles, chalk, stones, and whatever can be found(that is safe enough) in the immediate environment were being hurled at each other in the classroom. My cat-like reflexes had me feeling like T'challa with the power of the black panther until a pebble kissed me on my head, never felt a pain so excruciating and infuriating.
"Hahaha", the boy giggled as he ran for the door knowing I was about to retaliate.
The classroom was the arena, where the hell did he think he was going? time slowed down as anger took possession of my body. The devil provided a pointy object (a divider) that appeared magically by my feet.
without thinking, I picked it up and threw it at him... unfortunately, he was faster than I anticipated, like a snake, he slithered out of the classroom
" Damn it", I cursed under my breath until...
"Haaaaaa", the boy screamed from the Hall way, apparently... the divider ricocheted and found it's way to his back.
"Time out, time out. pull it out, pull it out", the boy cried
There it was, the beauty of a divide hanging on his back with it's claws buried in deep. The retaliation that pleased my very soul
" Who threw that? Who would throw such a thing, it's unfair", the questions echoed in the class
Deep down inside the evil grin was fighting it's way out... it was a hard battle. but I won and with a straight face, I acted as confused as the whole class was.
"please help me pull it out my back", the boy said to me
I pulled it out and I felt sickened by my actions immediately when I saw his blood dribble down the opening I created.

There it was, The day I made a vow never to act physically when angry, The day I rejected the embrace of hate, anger and the darkness it brought to chose Love and light.
True Story
If you stumble upon this... I'm sorry. It was the work of the devil.
