Live gratitude like you breathe in oxygen
For centuries there has been a debate; yin-yang, good-bad or positive-negative. Two collateral forces up against each other locking horns deciding the fates of humanity i.e. hell or heaven and this mindless cycle has been going on for long. Every human comes in this world in a certain specific cycle of time; born, brought up, taught, married, makes money, Makes kids then death. Yet a little amount of people have efficiency to stop in this rut to reflect and find purpose. Still from among those there are few who can actually appreciate the value and associated blessings that come with it it.

What is gratitude? The ability of being grateful for any x or y or z bounty bestowed to you by a certain person or God. For example you have a busy day but when you got home you see your brother has already walked your dog. The pet is now well groomed and rested.

One less work to do; life is beautiful!

Then if you are ill or barely escaped from an road side accident and get home. You throw your boots off and bow in-front of God.

Thank you God for keeping me alive!

Lets not go really far for example you get rain after a scorching episode of summer and you step lift your head towards sky and say thank god!

That's the limit of my gratitude journaling on most of days. These few days I have been thinking a lot. Everyone talked about how powerful it is. I have a habit to say thank you because that was inoculated in my upbringing. I reflected that often times I say it out of habit.

Times are turbulent. People are alive yet no happy. People are healthy yet not happy. People have food yet still not happy. This makes me think, wonder and question all the learned patterns like Maslow's hierarchy of needs.

What is the flux for humanity to be happy when physiological needs are fulfilled?

They are safe in their homes and somewhat well fed. They are with their loved ones yet alone. Is happiness and gratitude really a passing cloud that depressive realists narrate it is?

I found that it isn't. Gratitude we treat it as emotion or a mood or a formality. We are taking 24/7 from nature, exploiting it and then ranting for what isn't there. Gratitude has no standing ground. If you don't have rice to eat; take a moment and peek into your street. You can see someone begging for one bite of bread. If you can't hug your best friend on daily basis but can see them on cam. The need of hour is to be thankful that they are alive somewhere and in good health. The moment we stop comparing our lives with others and make better use of what we have; may be this life will become a little less complicated to live.

Ground yourself in gratitude. You can be the supreme creation of this universe but that doesn't make you entitled to live in all these wonders. If God wants he can take away all this in a second. The moment you see things like this you will realize how lesser kind of being you are and how blessed in reality you are to be real. Scatter your personal standards and set yourself free enough to dance on the flowerbed of gratitude. Live gratitude like you breathe in oxygen. Be thankful to God for his blessings so that he can bless more. Tonight before you go to bed put your hand on your heart and say,

"Thank you God for everything."

May the turbulent times become easy for all.

Love from Romi. ❤
