A letter to my future future grandkids.
Dear XYZ,
This is your "Aaita" pouring her heart out. She wants to narrate the tale of the year 2020, a different era of all the times faced by our generation, then.
Believe me, your "Aaita" never had inagined to stay confined in her house , washing her hands and rubbing it with hand sanitizers all the time.
This lady, who was undergoing her final year of BVsc and AH , had to pursue her education 9 months long, online straight It was a big deal, to not face the conventional system but stay home and learn.
That year, your Aaita was home from 16th March -20th Dec 2020. All she did was stayed cozy with her Maa and Deuta. She learnt a few recipes ,baked many cakes. Started Reiki and meditation from the month of August. And did a lot of online Purchase on Myntra and Flipkart. I don't know what you people are using now in this advanced age . (Year 2070)?
Aaita, also enjoyed writing her quotes and poems and almost had posted those on Facebook everyday. And I am still thankful my that it had happened. I also wrote a few stories and had posted it on "অৰ্দ্ধ আকাশ" , a FB community and was well appreciated for a few pieces.
Aaita, learnt to value her family more, gave no or less importance to things and people that had consumed her energy. And now that you are reading it my "grandchildren",I ask you for the same.
2020, made us humble, it made us learn that at the end of the day people who stayed away from family had to visit their sole place, that's what the soul craves when the world is at halt.
We did survive, a bigger scenario . Something we never had imagined. But I believe that made us, the "Indians" a bit more health conscious and the whole world a bit more, "humble".
And yes, Aaita enjoyed her "FRIENDS" errands, watched a few good movies on Netflix. I know, Netflix must be so outdated for you all. A suitable boy, Ludo were just one of two.She started liking Noah Centineo and Raghav Chadda that year too.
And yes post lockdown and when the fear had subsided slowly, she also met her bestfriend Shanu Aaita, a couple of times.
When it was Durga puja, Diwali and just one winter evening she had enjoyed it with her friend Mithu Aaita.
I used to visit our favourite cafes there in Nagaon, BBQ cafe and Aditya confectionary were never a miss.
Your Aaita returned back to her hostel on 21st Dec, 2020.And now she is making plans for a hostel feast with her friends for tomorrow's New Year Eve.
And she is writing this to make you people value what she had rejoiced then in the year 2020
