#WritcoStoryPrompt36
Write a short story that uses atleast two of the given situations:
1. An old, locked box in the attic.
2. A winding staircase that goes nowhere.
3. A broken mirror.
4. An old desk with a locked drawer.

Kumar had set of antique items in his ancestral home. They were a broken mirror, an old desk with a locked drawer and a old locked box in the attic.
Whenever he saw the broken mirror, there was broken promises which needs to be fulfilled. The old desk with locked drawer, made him look for a key . Since, he thought opening the drawer would help him solve a mystery. The old box in the attic didn't give him any vibe and remained a mystery to him. However,he instinctively never went near it more often. When he went near it, he never thought of opening the box and backed away quickly.
Kumar is just average person who you will encounter in your daily life. However , he was little different from most of the people. It was his ability to be positive in any situation, trusting everyone and helping others unconditionally.
Does this characteristic will be enough to save his life from an unknown catastrophe which is not only unknown to him but to the entire humanity. It has something to do with the broken mirror, an old desk with locked drawer and old box in the attic that has been passed in his family from generation to generation. I know, everyone want a person like Kumar to survive the disaster. We could only help if Kumar asked for our help and helping him doesn't harm us or if it benefits us, unlike Kumar who would help without being asked or expecting anything in return or worrying about the consequences. We are not selfish some of the time, we act like Kumar. We help people without expecting anything in return. We rarely help people expect our loved ones if it hurts us. For Kumar, the whole world is his family as he was orphan from his birth. Kumar has a rare heart condition. He needed a urgent valve replacement for the heart, he would die when he turns 32 or in his mid 30's at the best. Kumar was fast approaching the 32nd age , so was his death. However death didn't have the heart to take away the life of Kumar, so it gave him a chance to fix his heart condition and live happily ever after.
One day, Kumar almost opened the Pandora box, but his guardian angel prevented him from doing it. From that day onwards, he promised himself not to open the box, as it gave negative vibes

Thirty Eight years later, a group of youngsters are coming to this village, each for their own reasons. However, no one know , that would get something they have not expected . They may not have imagined that they will be going to go on a treasure hunt. The treasure that will bring both happiness and sadness which is both Good and Bad.
