The Old Hell Palace [Short Story]
Maya is working as a reporter in a famous TV channel. Her show is to show hidden wonderful palaces that were built by queen and king who were living before several centuries ago. She goes alone with her cameraman.
She was a very beautiful girl. She was having a secret crush on the cameraman.
One fine day, she got an information about an old palace located in Afghanistan. It was a very old palace. No earthquake have affected the palace before. She used to live telecast the show in TV.
She planned to go to Afghanistan along with her crush (cameraman). Her crush name is Matthew. He is a very handsome boy and was also having a secret crush on Maya as well.
She fixed the date on 26th january 2021. Soon, the date came nearby. Maya and Matthew was ready to go. They reached Afghanistan by flight soon. They went straight to that palace and started recording.
The also asked about the palace to the people who are living nearby. They kept saying that the house was haunted and there's a dangerous ghost is living there and killing people. They also said more than 3 people in the village die because of the ghost.
They took it funny because they heard many people saying the same thing in their experience. They didn't take it seriously. They don't know that they're going to regret it in the future. The people were mostly warning Maya and not Matthew because there is some secret with that.
They didn't care and was continuing the live. They entered the palace. It was so huge and seems like a masterpiece. They were astonished. It was evening time and it feels like a pleasure for them to see the sunset from the palace.
The people seeing the live was very happy to see the natural view of the sunset. They explored each and every room. They entered a room which was filled with a lot of luxurious and antique things.
The whole room was decorated with red roses. The roses were fresh and seems like it didn't dry these years. They touched the roses. They were surprised that it wasn't plastic roses and it was real. It's a mysterious thing. As soon as they touched the rise, they heard a huge and loud slamming sound. All the doors and windows of that house closed and they were locked.
The lights inside the old palace was coming from outside. Now every windows and door which were the sources for the lights inside the palace were closed. There was no light now. It was pitch dark. They were locked in the Rose room. They turned on their night vision camera and their camera light to see what's happening around.
Maya was a lot scared. Matthew was soothing her by saying, "don't worry. Everyone should be watching this live. Our higher officials will send a team to rescue us for sure." Maya was little relaxed by hearing that.
The TV channel officials were selfish and saw this as a good opportunity to increase their TRP.
Maya and Matthew thought of the warning the people gave outside. They said that Maya is in great danger than Matthew. Matthew was holding Maya's hands tightly because of that reason. There were a lot of things in the room. They were exploring them. They noticed that the red rose was dry now.
Maya said, "it might be a signal to show the nature of the house. The house seem to have two nature. One is calm and other is haunting. The roses are red when the house is calm. It's dry when the house is haunting."
Matthew totally agreed. There were a lot of dresses of a man. It was royal and seem to be like a king's dress. Also there were a lot of girls photos. Maya said, "this shows that the king is pervert!" Matthew chucked and said, "it's not a miracle. It's common in older days.."
They were locked there a lot of time and the live was still going on. It became 12.00 a.m. they were still there. Suddenly they heard someone banging the door and they could identify that every doors and windows is being banged by someone. All the doors and window opened.
They were in the happiness that they were going out. Suddenly an invisible thing pulled Maya's leg. That invisible spirit dragged her in steps and lyed her in the middle of the hall. The middle of the hall was fully blood stinky smell..
Matthew don't wanna leave Maya and was still holding her hand pulling towards him. That invisible spirit took a large, very big and unimaginable hammer in its hand.
They were shocked. The hammer was in the size of the big bed. Matthew tried to save Maya. He pulled her in his side and was running towards the door. The spirit again pulled her leg. Maya said, "I know I can't escape. But you can.. please go from here. I never thought I would confess my love in this situation.. but.. I love you!"
The words broke him. It made him more strong and made him think that he can do anything in this world for her. He hold her hands tightly and said, "I won't leave you anytime in this whole lifetime. I don't want to die together with you. I want to live together with you.. I love you!"
They confessed their love in a critical situation. Matthew was still holding her hands tight. The concrete started breaking and created a great hole in the floor. They were shocked. They came near the doorstep but the spirit wasn't ready to leave ber legs. It was ready to kill her.
Matthew pulled her hands forcely. She came out of the house and the spirit lost. The whole house started banging the doors and windows of the house.
They escaped from there after several struggles. They are now lovers. After few days, they were about to go back to US in a flight. Matthew wanted to know what's behind the house. So he went back to the location without saying Maya and asked about it to an old man who was sitting in the corner of the street.
The old man started saying about the house, "before 450 years, this palace was built by a famous King. He thought of making the palace more strong and make it an symbol for the king. So he consulted a magician. The magician recommended them to bury many girls alive because girls are more powerful and they can bear extreme pains. The magician told that the blood should be spread in the middle of the hall and After spreading, the girl should be buried inside the main hall of the house to make It more strong. It was brutal. Even after the king died, the king's spirit keeps hunting girls for making his house more strong. This is the reason why the house doesn't have any effects of many earthquakes. Everyone call me crazy I say this.. I hope you believe me!"
He was shocked and went to US and never thought of returning to that country again.
