Beyond the shores (Chapter five)
Lorna closed her eyes, inhaled the smell of the ocean, the wind blowing her hair and her feet slightly sunk into the sand.
At the back of her sat her mum and dad and a few friends around the campfire chatting about former days, laughing and singing.
This place was not new to her. She had been here before. A flashback of memories filled her mind and she couldn't help but smile to herself.
Those days were gone but the memories still remained fresh in her head.
The idea of coming here to retreat was a good idea and she so much loved it.
She was determined to make the most of her time here exploring, taking as many photographs possible to bring back with her.
"We are so glad you could come," said Teresa. It's so good to see you all again and to hear about Lorna's achievement."
"It's good to be here once again, after all these years," Lorna's father added.
And I he stories continued.
That night the moon shone brightly over the beach and it's reflection over the sea was picturesque.
"Enjoying the view?"
Lorna's heart skipped a beat. That familiar voice sounded like music in her ears raising the excitement within her.
She opened her eyes and turned to look at this handsome man standing near her with open arms.
Lorna wasted no time running into Sione's embrace.
They held each other so tight and laughed and cried. It was so good to see each other after a long time.
Sione decided that he was going to confess his deeper feelings for her while she was here.
He was never going to let this opportunity slip away.
"Hey you two, come join us!" Teresa called.
And they both joined their parents around the campfire.
Lorna was finally at peace to be finally near her best friend once again.
