Trust the journey
I watched 'Marley And me' today. and it got me thinking what a dog can do to your life. Also when I think about the moment when it was too overwhelming for Jen with 2 kids and a dog full of energy, I am thinking what would have happened if she had given up. What if John wouldn't have understood that jen is overwhelmed, what if he didn't have left the marley with Sebastian that day. what if in a spurr of the moment he would have given up marley? What if marley had reacted badly after seeing the 1st child?

But nothing like this happened, you know why, cause they understood. All of them, even the kids. They understood that no matter how different or tiring it seems, we can never give up on loving someone. No matter how overwhelming or out of the line or out of the plan it seems, you gotta love them.

In my professional opinion as a psychologist, marley was a Hyperactive dog. And just as the parents with ADHD child, jen and John were struggling. Even when they took him to dog trainer it didn't work. Marley couldn't follow structure, hence dog trainer called him world's worst dog. And that's what happens with ADHD child too. When a child with ADHD fails to follow structure of the school teachers call them world's worst student. And even parents believe them, at some level hence child starts questioning himself too, asking what's wrong with me, why am I different?

You know what, just like jen and John knew that marley isn't the world's worst dog, we need parents with ADHD children to know the same. Yeah it is going to be difficult and will take more energy, but it's going to be so much better. And the love this child will provide you with will be unconditional and much more.

You just need to believe in your child and his ability to love you, just like jen and John did. And I promise you this is going to be one of the best adventure one could ever have.

All you gotta do is to Trust the journey.
