I was horrified to see her car. It was completely burnt. Alicia's phone was on the ground with blood stains. A cop said, “There's nothing left inside the car. Person inside the car is completely burnt. We sent it for dna analysis but can't say if any result will come.”
I thought over and over again. Could it be possible that she is still alive. Maybe she was the one who did all these things and now showing she is dead.
I put all my guilt and sadness aside, and understood the killer is still on the loose. I went to hospital. Vera, Mr. Brown, Lily and Inspector McCoy already left. But John and two cops were still there.
I asked John that can we talk about his mother's death. But he went really mad at me due to all the things that happened. I said, “Please calm down, I am really sorry for all that but if you won't help we might not be able to catch the criminal.”
“Ugh ask what you want to know.”
“Can you tell me what had happened on day of your mother's death?”
“That day my mom was ill but she didn't wanted to tell what's matter. I also thought it would mean if I try to ask. She went to buy medicine herself but accidentally or intentionally , bought sleeping pills of heavy dose. She took them as well as pills she already used to take.”
“So that resulted in overdose and her death?”
“Yes.”
“And what were you doing in Vera's backyard day before yesterday?”
He didn't wanted to answer that. And I left him with that question. Then I went to Mr Brown’s house who was absolutely fine but had got fainted due very loud sound of bullets yesterday. I asked him, “Mr Brown, can you please tell me what could be reason you think is possible for someone doing all this.”
“Hmm, it could be John because he loves Vera. Or Lily because she was kicked out of Vera’s house. Or.....oh! yes. There's one more thing. When Vera was around 13 , a girl committed suicide.”
“But why?”
“She was a rape victim and Vera said many bad things to her. But it wasn't Vera only who said that.”
This thing killed my sympathy for her. How could she do that to someone. And once my sympathy died, I realized she could also be the MURDERER!
