There once was a turtle who had the ability to grant the wish of anyone who came across it, over the years, the turtle had granted many wishes to many people but deep down it longed for freedom. The turtle longed to be free from granting the wishes of others but none of the people he came across ever asked him what he wished for. The turtle wasn’t bitter, neither did he blame them, they were often too overwhelmed to find a talking turtle who could grant them any one wish they desired and were consumed with their desires instead of his.


One fine day, a wealthy man came across the turtle, as usual, he was surprised to find to find a talking turtle, nonetheless one which could grant your any one wish. The politician wished for more wealth to fund his upcoming campaign and his wish was granted

A fair maiden also came across the turtle and wished to be the fairest maiden in all the land and her wish was also granted

Later on, a slave came across the turtle, after finding out what the turtle could do,he thought to himself for a while and then said to the turtle “ I was born a slave, and spend all of my days tending to the needs of others, much like you do, I would like to break the cycle for someone if not for myself. I wish for your freedom Mr Turtle “ .

The turtle was instantly freed. Impressed and overjoyed at what had happened the turtle decided to repay the kindness of the slave, the turtle freed the slave from his master.Although he had been freed, the turtle decided to stay at the side of the former slave and continued to grant his wishes for the rest of his life.
