Do you boo

Recently, while talking to a friend of mine, he said something and then added, "Did that sound racist?"
For me, if you have to ask that question, then you already know the answer.

We have been friends for years, and my answer was exactly the way I feel about life. That is, you do you, boo. That is my philosophy in life. I can't tell you what to believe, how to act, or what to say, that is on you.

My outlook is do you, believe in whatever gets you through your day, good for you. I'm not here to judge anyone. Who am I to judge? I've done lots of bad things in my life, especially when I was younger, and I wouldn't want anyone to judge me.

I live my life with the thought of live and let live, even if I don't believe in what you believe in. I will not get into a shit throwing match with you about it. My mother always said that opinions are like assholes. Everyone has one. That is the truest statement ever spoken. We all have an opinion, we live in a free country and we all get to express that opinion.

My perspective is that if I don't like your opinion, I can keep scrolling, or I could cut you out of my life if you're an out and out racist. I will not deal with you as I am not letting in negativity in my life with a person like that. If we have differences of opinions about politics or other things, then I will just let you do you. I'm not losing any sleep over the way you live or how you feel about me or the world.
At the end of the day you're going to have to deal with what you did in your life and I'll have to deal with what I did in my life and that's the way it is.

So today, my friends remember everyone is entitled to their own opinions. I am never going to change your mind about something you believe in, bottom line. And yes, I am open to hearing your opinions and maybe you will change my mind but that is only because I have an open mind. But in either case, go ahead and do you boo, because I will certainly be doing me.
