THE TIME WHEN I FAILED , PART - 6
Next day when I went to the restaurant, I saw some changes. They were shifting the furniture. They were adding some new decorations and also removing the old decorations. They were adding more Photo frames, Antiques, Potted Plants, Lights. The old chairs were getting a makeover and they were getting a new table. I went to Aditi and said, Good Morning ma'am. She sweetly replied, Good Morning. I hesitated and then asked, Ma'am are we renovating the restaurant. Aditi answers, We are just making some changes to upgrade the restaurant.
As the changes were going on, no one had a proper place to sit. I was untangling the lights. Everyone had some work alloted so everyone busy doing that. Aditi came and sat on a bench at some distance. She was designing the new menu on the laptop. And then we will just print it. Aditi was handling the restaurant really well. I actually looked at her and tried to take my eyes away from her but I couldn't stop staring her. She looked at me for a second and I took my eyes away as I wasn't able to look her in the eye.
The manager asks for everyone's attention and says, After a lot of effort we have finally renovated the restaurant. Thank you so much Aditi ma'am for helping us. Would you like to say something ma'am. She nods her head. Please ma'am 2 words. She just says, Mr. Mehta ( Manager ) gave the credit to me but if all the helpers, labour and waiters didn't help than this work would have been harder than it is. Everyone starts clapping on her reply to Mr. Mehta ( Manager ). He doesn't likes to give credit of some work to labourers and waiters. And that's the reason the claps from hs went for long.
Later at night, Aditi had to go home and 1 member among the waiters has to drop Aditi at home. No one was ready to go. They said that the way she replied to the manager, after that I am even scared to greet her. Some didn't wanted to go because she is daughter of the owner and not the son. They were still stuck in the old century when we used to discriminate girls on the basis of gender. I was not giving a reason and I didn't had any such issue from her being straightforward and honest in front of the manager and I didn't used to discriminate girls on the basis of gender. So, I had to drive the car.
