Growing up as a blue blood always filled my imaginations with royal romantic fantasy,until that unforgettable day!
I met Tamen at a royal function held by my father for noble men. He was a handsome young man, possibly in his late twenties.
I wasn't always allowed in public, because of my father's over protectiveness, but was surprisingly allowed to the function, and I jumped at it!
Being 19 summers, my mother thought I was just the right age to get a match, and arranged a few behind my father, who wanted me to be educated along with the Western women. All my life has been them making all my decisions choices, some which vary farther from my dream, but I had to always live up to either mother's or father's wish!
Tamen was having a drink with the palace soldiers, which made me surprise, considering he was a grand prince, he looked up severally to give me a wry smile and wave to come over.
I kept glancing at my mum, looking for a fine opportunity when she looked away, to sneak out to the other side of the room, where the men resided. I was bored of the royal ladies, discussions, it's never anything new, either the planning of a grand event, or celebration over a new vast space of land their dukes acquired, or Jewelries, or childbearing! The circle of discussion remained the same each time they assembled together in this manner.
I needed a break and needed to hear something different too! So I left quietly to the other side. Tamen seemed so nice, he smiled frequently and offered me a glass of mead!
I immediately recalled my royal tutor Daisona, saying I shouldn't take a drink from a stranger unless I witnessed it being poured out and the stranger drinking from it!
But Tamen seemed too nice to even think harm; so I accepted it anyway. We chatted for a while about the interiors of the castle, then he requested that I showed him around, I accepted excitedly, then leading the way, I took him upstairs.
Tamen talked about his adventures and I got carried away and fantisied about amazing places I could go beyond the palace boarders.
I strayed quite far from the main hall in the dark with a stranger I just met!
Then it happened in a way I never forgot in a hurry! Tamen stopped abruptly and held me to a halt, he then asked me;
"where are the keys that guide the precious
stones of magini??
I was both surprised and scared as to why he'd ask me that, because only the royal bloods in our island knew where the magini keys were, and we don't ever tell because the precious stones are our source of light, if they are taken away, darkness would engulf our island!!!
"I don't know " I replied with a little fright in my voice, which I knew he sensed.
He reasurred me that he'll tell no one, but I replied that I'd be more comfortable if he didn't ask anymore.
He then brought out his wand, and I shrieked at discovering I was standing with a soccerer!
Before I could turn to let out a scream, he casted a spell on me, then I took him to where the keys of magini laid!
The moment Tamen took the keys and left, I became free of the spell, then let out a loud scream, I could only hear the footsteps of my people trying to find their way out of the hall as the thick dark clouds covered up the island!
I learnt in a hard way that trusting strangers could cost a life, and I stood there hoping a miracle would save us from the doom I brought upon us!!!!
