I have been thinking a lot lately about what I would like to say to you, my darling girl, as you grow up and enter the world as an independent person. Most importantly, I want you to know how much I love you and how much I want the best for you.
As you grow older, there will be many influences that try to shape who you become. Some of these influences will be positive and some may not be. It is important that while navigating the world around you, that you stay true to yourself and preserve your innocence. Despite what the world may tell you, staying innocent is something to be proud of and something that should be cherished.
Your innocence is something special that no one can take away from you, so guard it with all of your heart. Don't ever let anyone tell you that it is something to be ashamed of or that it is irrelevant. Staying innocent means that you are able to keep your values and beliefs intact in an ever-changing world. It means that you are able to see the beauty in the world and stay true to your convictions despite any adversity that may come your way.
You have a unique perspective which should never be compromised in order to fit in with the crowd. When faced with difficult decisions, use your inner strength and resolve to make the right choices for yourself. Don't be afraid to ask questions if something doesn't seem right or doesn't feel comfortable for you.
No matter what life throws at you, remember that your innocence is something special and should never be taken for granted. It is a gift that will serve you well throughout your life by helping you stay true to yourself no matter what challenges life presents.
