A Motivational Narrative..
Once a visitor, with a keen love of art, came to visit
the studio of Michaelangelo, the world-famous sculptor. Michaelangelo was telling him about the
image that he was making. The visitor had come to
Michaelangelo before, to see the earlier stages of its
making. Michaelangelo was explaining what he had been doing in the interval,,"I changed this part a little.I made the muscles of the arms appear a little longer, brought a brighter emotional expression on the lips,sculpted them here and there to make them appear a little stronger". The visitor appeared to be a
little sceptical. "Oh, all these days you have only been
doing small trifling work? "Michaelangelo gave a significant smile and said: "you see, these small bits of
work only contribute to perfection. Trifles make perfection and perfection is not trifle. This is the importance of trifles - the rule applies to all walks of
life". You may have heard that the way in which a
writer has placed his inkstand and pen can serve as a
measure of his worth. That is true. You can measure the ability of a person, his conduct and behavior by
the manner in which he carries out small insignificant bits of work. Watch the man who is
cleaning the car in the garage. Just by observing the
nature of cleaning, you can tell whether he is going to be a successful professional or not. Each man at work is a documentary of his personality. No rich harvest can be reaped within a day's labour. When we proceed towards our goal, we have to mind each step and see that our progress is steady and assured.
Remember: Don't ignore small things,, manage them with efficiency and interest. Proceed step by step, if the direction is right, you are certain to reach the destination.
