The Dragons Seal (Chapter 1) The Journey
Long ago in the year 1000 BCE in a small town in Japan
a young girl named Ayame went in search of the mystical wind dragon named Asuga that lived amongst the clouds in the Tsurugi mountains. She heard many stories on how dangerous it was and how that dragon was revered and worshiped by the mountain people, but she never built the courage to set sail towards that mountain until now.
(Chapter 1) The Journey
There was a chill in the air as Ayame went up the mountain with haste trying to find a place to rest before nightfall. People along the path she headed were kind and offered her food and warm smiles. They questioned what she was doing traveling alone and she responded saying, “I’m just exploring the mountain to see what beauty it has hidden. “My ancestors used to walk these mountains before one of them disappeared, and never returned.” As she walked, she encountered an elderly woman who said to her “The sun shines on the pure hearted.” Ayame heard the woman and responded saying “and the rain blesses even the smallest seeds.” The elderly woman’s name was Chikako. She was impressed with what Ayame said and offered her a room for the night in her home. She told Ayame it used to belong to her son whose name is Tora but he left for the university to become a judge. Ayame agreed and followed the elderly lady to her abode. The room she was staying in was small and had many athletic trophies and books involving laws. She noticed a dragon figure on his shelf but before she could inspect it further Chikako showed up asking if she would like extra towels and blankets. Ayame refused saying the ones already supplied were sufficient but showed her gratitude towards Chikako. She took a shower and got into her sleeping clothes and wrote in her diary everything that she went through today before finally closing her notebook and falling into a deep sleep.
