Keeping Your Distance
I remember being warned about getting too close to certain people. With the reason being that familiarity basically breeds disrespect.
I was raised to treat everyone equally irrespective of the person's social standing. I personally hate it when people start treating you in a nicer way simply because they got to know you are linked to someone influential or because you are rich.
So in my daily dealing with people I make it a point to treat everyone equally to the best of my ability, well for the most part. So you can imagine the pain and regret when people you normally should have no business dealing with start taking you for granted. When they start playing stupid games with you, something they wouldn't have had the opportunity to do had you kept your distance away from them. This is when you remember the warning you were given in relation to keeping your circle tight. Here I find myself now, regretting that I treated certain people much better than they actually deserved to be treated. So if you ever hear I treated someone poorly or acted in a snobbish manner towards anyone, then you should know that that person got what he or she deserved. I end my case here. For now. Till we meet again.
