The Old Man Who Wished To Fly
Once, there was an old man who lived in a small town.
The people of the town disliked him for many reasons; he he was annoying, grumby,easily irritated and most of all insulted people. His house was secluded from all the other houses in the town.
One day, he had a back pain,and he was tired walking from a long distance. He complained to himself how tired he was and how annoying the people of the town were. He wished he could fly out of the town and not having to walk long distances. He was just saying to himself everyday how he wished to fly.
One evening, he prayed to God that he wanted wings. But God refused to give him wings .He asked for many days but God did not listen to him .
Until one day, God wanted to see how he would behave when He gives him wings. The following day the old man was given wings to fly.
The Oldman was full of joy and flew up,higher and higher in the sky.
He no longer had to walk long distances and live in the town.He enjoyed the breeze the wind offered.
He flew to all parts of the world. He then became tired,hungry and thirsty.
Despite all that, he felt lazy to come down since he was up in the sky.
A bird in the sky started to laugh at him and said,"I overhead and can see that you are an old man with wings and is thirsty,hungry, and lazy to come down. "Even if you want to come down, below you are hungry lions, if you come down you will be eaten up. "You look so tired, having difficulties in flying . "What a foolish Oldman you are,wanting to have wings because you are tired of long distances and you are annoyed with your town and it's people. "Meanwhile you will not look at your self ,grumpy Old man."
With that the bird ended, and the old man looked like fool.
He prayed to God to take away the wings.
God told him to be grateful with what he has. God then removed his wings and made him appear in his town.
The Old Man went back to his normal life never complaining again.
