Past is Calling - Part I
A green field extending upon me, houses built of wood and clay, the Sun shining like a phoenix in its maximum potential, the smells of sunflowers and tulips, and the birds chirping. From afar, I could hear a childish voice shouting.
‘William! William!’ the voice shouted. I continued lying over there, ignoring the voice.
‘William! William!’ the voice became louder. I could see someone running, heading towards me.
‘William! Willia…’ Suddenly, the field disappeared, but I could continue hearing the shouting. It came from outside my cabin. I put on my white pants and checked the window: I could see a tall and muscular man with long blond hair and big brown eyes.
‘Reydyn!!! My best friend!!!’ I gave him a big hug and invited him in.
‘Long time, no see! Now that you are FINALLY taking holidays, you’re living the time of your life!’ He told me.
‘Let’s have some ales, my friend.’ I took two mugs from one of the cupboards.
‘And… what are your plans now? How will you spend your vacations?’ He asked me. I paused and processed the question before answering him. Every day, I fought and slew monsters, from the smallest to the biggest, from the ugliest to the most beautiful, and now that I had time to rest and enjoy, I didn’t know what to do. I’ve been to every kingdom and traveled through deserts, mountains, forests, and countryside, so I didn’t feel like traveling.
‘I don’t know. It’s so weird for me to take holidays. I’m always working.’ I told him. I’ve been at least working continuously for more than 20 years without stopping.
‘Visit your parents. Meet new people. Start new activities. Learn new languages. There are a lot of things to do.’ He suggested, but there was something that shocked me. I didn’t remember having parents. My mentor was a father figure to me, but he wasn’t my biological father.
‘You gave an idea.’ I told him and started to plan a new trip.
