Centipede
#WritcoStoryChallenge
The car sped through the dark night, it's headlights flashing, warning the incoming traffic. I kept my eyes glued to the road, waiting to see something. After an uneventful minute, a leaned back slightly and relaxed. 'Must've been a big animal then' I thought. A grin spreads across my face as I see a cheap motel in the close distance. It was getting close to midnight, so I decided to pull into the parking lot and go in. Slowly walking to the door, I felt eyes on me from behind. I turned around to see nothing. Sighing softly, I go to push open the door, only for it to be locked. Groaning softly, a pull out my phone to check out where I was. That's when I heard it. It sounded like soft laughter mixed with sobbing. Looking around, I try to find whoever is crying. When I spot what it was though, I bolted to my car with wide eyes. It wasn't human. It's face was human, but the rest wasn't. It's body was pale and glistened in the moonlight. It had four arms, each with to many fingers. It's lower body looked something akin to a cockroach. It was slowly crawling closer. I watched it silently, desperately trying to get my keys and start the car. When I had finally grasped the keys, it lounged at my car with an ear piercing scream. I cried out in terror and I scrambled to turn the key. As soon as the engine roared to life, the passenger window shattered from a punch by the monster. I slammed my foot onto the gas, not bothering with the seat belt. Swerving around in the parking lot did nothing to shake the monster off, in fact, it seemed to hold on tighter. I try desperately to think of a plan as it slowly reaches it's many fingered hand towards me. I cry out in alarm as it wraps it's hand around my neck and yanks me out of the car. It forces me onto my back with a large, creepy grin. Suddenly, it bites down on my arm, pulling harshly. I feel the tendons and muscles pull and after a few more seconds of pulling, tendons snap and bones break. The monster starts to devour my arm as I cry and scream in pain. I try to stand, but grow dizzy from the quick about of blood loss. The monster grabs my leg and pulls me close before digging its fangs into my calves. I scream and beg for it to stop as it pulls out a huge chunk of flesh. Its smiling and crying face is the last thing I see before everything goes black.
