Sherlock Holmes And Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
While The name Sherlock Holmes is almost universally recognised That of Conan Doyle is certainly less so. I thought I knew all about Sherlock Holmes but nothing about Arthur Conan Doyle, vis creator.
Holmes stepped out of The book covers and really lived at 22 1 B Baker Street with Dr Watson, and Mrs Hudson.
As a Child I really enjoyed reading about Holmes And he became a lifelong friend. Doyle of course was a talented doctor and he developed his authourship together with his medial practice but, as he complained in a letter to his Mother Sherlock Holmes took his mind of better things. And he considered killing off his creation and giving his time to The writing of historical novels.
Having done The deed in The Final Problem Doyle threw away his Pen and left a black stain on his wallpaper!
In my case i cast away my typewriter to claim a corner here.
