My Boyfriend - The Stranger
Part 1 - Vacation at the beach

All set for my dream vacation, I thought with a satisfied smile. I checked the time on my watch. 9:42 am.I had plenty of time to prepare myself a light breakfast. The guys had planned to pick me up around 11:00 am. I had about an hour to eat, check my bags and secure the apartment.

I headed toward my kitchen, the prettiest room of my small apartment. It was painted in pastel turquoise with small white daisies decorating the walls, a four set glass dining table, with colors matching the kitchen accessories. The rest of the apartment was painted in bright white with different colorful patterns in each room. I had taken me two full weeks and weekends to finally obtain this result.

My friends wanted to help so I allowed them to carry the heavy furnitures. After finishing my cereals and glass of tangerine juice, I pulled my cell out of my pocket to log into my Facebook account. After reading a few updates and two messages left in my inbox, I quickly logged out and check the time again. Already 11:03. After I double-checked everything, bags included, I decided to wait for them outside. It was a beautiful day, I thought with a bright sun shining and clear blue sky.

Ah Summer! My favorite season of all. While greeting a few neighbors on my way down, my ringtone suddenly broke the silence of the hall. Quickly I read the message flashing on the screen: “ Let’s go. Hurry up!” I already knew which of the guys had sent it so I did not bother with a reply. Mark and I were best friends since 8th grade.

It all started with a fight..and I must say until this day…we are still fighting. Sometimes I find myself wondering how we had managed to keep our friendship alive despite our differences of opinion. Adjusting my backpack, I ran to Mark’s black Jeep, an old 4×4 inherited at his father’s passing. There were Gabriel, Mark’s roommate and his girlfriend Cora and of course Ben. My boyfriend of three weeks. The most handsome dude with an angel face I’ve ever seen. Sexy dimples and sexy voice…Everything about him was sexy, sexy and dangerous. Even though we became a couple after a few dates.

I often thought that he acted as if he was keeping the greatest secret on earth. Recently transferred to our school Ben was the most popular guy on campus. And the fact that he had asked me out instead of the other cute girls was pretty much giving me a big head for I was not the most beautiful girl around.

This vacation was his idea. A way for us to get to know each other better, have fun with our friends and take a break after the final exams. Five days at the beach. Location unknown as he wanted it to remain a secret. It sounded good to me…we were really excited about his plan at that time.

But now that we were leaving, I started feeling a little anxious at the thought of me and him…alone at the beach for 5 entire days. I quickly reminded myself that Mark would be there with us…but that didn’t quite ease the mixed feelings that were coming out of nowhere…

I was trying to convince myself that everything was going to be fine and put this feeling aside. My sixth sense was telling me to be careful with my new boyfriend. I knew so little about him…In fact, we knew only what he had wanted us to know.

Quickly coming back to reality…with Ben’s right arm wrapped around me, I tried to forget about this odd gut feeling. I closed my eyes and rested my head on Ben’s strong shoulder, a happy smile on my face.

As Mark was driving us to our destination I promised myself to be careful while enjoying our time together at the beach.
