He smirked, his perfect, white teeth gleaming. Who is he?. My hands shook violently. How did he do that?, is he even a human?.
I stepped back, colliding into Eddy. I turned around and gripped his hand and ran for the door. I didn't even make it halfway across the room when Eddy jerked his hand back, causing me to fall backward. He caught me before I landed. Wait...how?.
How did he catch me so fast?. It wasn't even a second and...
He held my hand and pulled me back, facing that boy, who now stood, looking at Eddy with astonishing eyes. Eddy turned to face me, then he gently pushed me back.
"Bexy, are you okay?", he whispered in my ear. He was so close that I could feel his breath on my neck.
I nodded.
As he turned again to face that boy, he started glowing, faintly at first, but then the glow sharpened. The same happened with the boy.
"We meet again, Adrian", Eddy said, he started to walk in circles, matching the boy's action.
"Yes, we meet again", said Adrian.
"Eddy, who...who is he?", I asked him.
"A friend or an enemy, can't choose the right word," he said looking at me.
Right out of thin air, the boy called Adrian, pulled out a sword. The sun rays reflected on the gleaming surface.
"Edd..Eddy, he has a sword. Eddy come back", I said, my voice low from fear. Not many things scare me, but right now, nothing seemed safe.
Eddy raised his chin, ready to face the worst, but then as he raised his hands, something bizarre appeared in his hands. Large blades tied to heavy metal chains. He smiled at his rival, because clearly, friends don't greet each other with dangerous, weird-looking swords and chained blades.
"Eddy...what in the underworld is that?, and how did...how do you know him?..he was the one who...", my voice faltered.
"What", he asked.
"Aren't you the one who was there when I was on the building and y-you were there too when Lilith was beating me up". I said, I've never been so fearful.
"Surprise, surprise", Adrian said.
"On top of a building?", Eddy asked. "Have you two met before".
"I saved her twice, Eddy Hunter. Once when she attempted to take her own life, second when she was getting beaten up. She would've died there, on the ground if she wasn't rushed to the hospital". Adrian said with a grim expression on his face.
I stood there, not knowing what to say. Eddy's grip on the blades loosened, he turned towards me
"What?. You did what" he asked
"I...Eddy, I acted foolishly at that time, and" I turned to see Adrian "He saved me".
"Bexley, why didn't you tell me about any of this?" he asked.
"Did you, did you care to tell me about all of this shit. Who even are you?", I said bitterly.
Everything was a big mess. My best friend was glowing, that Adrian boy and Eddy knew each other. I couldn't think of anything.
"Shame Eddy, didn't you tell her about this?", he said with a glint in his eyes.
"Bexley I, I didn't know this day would come and", he stopped in the middle of the sentence. He gestured towards Adrian.
"what is it now Edd-"
"Shut up", Eddy interrupted him ." Listen".
The silence settled upon all of us awkwardly. Honestly, I wanted nothing more than sleep, I wanted nothing more than this all to be a dream.
A sharp cry was heard from the end of the corridor. A weird one. Not a human's voice. It sounded a mixture between a screech of a bat and a chirp of cicadas. Don't ask me how I know animal sounds so well. So, I was already scared, now it was the turn of the boys to go pale, which was quite startling.
"No, it can't be him", Adrian said.
"It is him, his men are here, for her", Eddy said, looking at me." We have to get her out of here"
"This is the last time I'm ever agreeing with you".
"That's what you said the last time too". Eddy smirked."To the academy?", Eddy questioned, raising his eyebrow.
"That's the only option".
The boys turned, looking at me. Each one grabbed my arm." Close your eyes Bexy, it's time for some magic"
The door busted open, breaking the hinges. I saw men come in but my vision blurred, Eddy's grip tightened.
"No, stop them" I heard a man shout.
The room swirled, and everything illuminated. A portal, I realized. I have seen enough movies to recognize that a portal had apparently appeared out of nowhere.
"How on earth did this happen-". I was pushed in the portal, but I could feel Eddy's hand in mine. Out of everything, the feeling of Eddy being beside me kept me sane, or I wonder what would've happened to me by now. Everything swirled. We were heading to a new place, a place that I didn't know about.
