Bleeding Red
As I walk along the mighty trees, dry leaves crushing beneath my steps, I find an old house. With walls that are creamy and flaky as if abandoned from a long age. There stands in front of me a huge wooden door, a plain brown painted door. I've been warned not to roam in the woods but I can't resist the feeling of curiosity. I've seen this place a number of times before but I never dared to go inside for the haunting look it has. I still get a strange feeling not to go there but I walk upto the stairs and open the door. As it creaks, I make my way inside and I can sense an odd smell inside, it stinks too bad that I feel like vomiting. With an utter surprise my eyes catch the liquid flowing on the floor, dark red fluid running on the old tiled floor. It seems hot as the steam rises up from it. There are a few broken pieces of glass with red stains. I was processing the thoughts in my mind when I felt a presence in the other room which should be the kitchen, someone's cleaning the floor. I go there and I see an old lady mopping the floor. As her eyes fall on me, she quickly grabs the knife from the rusty counter and points in my direction. There is the same red fluid dripping from it. I quickly lift my hands up in the air.
"Who are you and what are you doing in my house?",she asked with some mixed emotions. "Don't be afraid madam, I dont mean any harm. I was just strolling in the woods for some fresh breeze and thought to look here. I'm going back anyways but please put the knife back", I tried to make her understand and she kept the knife down. As I was about to move, she said, " Now that you've come here, I've been waiting for someone to come and help me in cleaning the messy floor.I hope you won't deny this old lady ". And the next I knew, I was rubbing the mop hard against the floor as she kept telling me how she had made a tasty tomato sauce but the glass container slipped from her hand and created this all mess. Now I guess I know why my sixth sense had been warning me. "Ahh do it a little quick my kid, there's a lot of cleaning left. You see, the walls have been sweating badly so they need a bath", she laughed and I had to join her with a faint smile as she continued with her endless stories.
