Guardian Angel
it didn't mean to kill her. it just wanted to protect her.

it was Christmas time for young, eligible miss nova winters in paris, France. she had lived in the most elegant house in the city, for almost her whole life, withholding the record for the most gorgeous flower garden in the entirety of France. her parents weren't exactly strapped for cash either, if you couldn't already tell. nova lived with both her parents at the time. julia winters - a respected lawyer. luke Hartford - a trusted accountant. although, when nova had just passed her sixth birthday, her father sadly passed from a drug overdose at the young age of 39. that's when she felt so incredibly alone, that she created a whole new imaginary friend. his name was henry. often, she would talk to him for hours on end. julia was beginning to feel concerned. not long after her father passed, nova would repeatedly scream like her life depended on it at precisely 3'o'clock in the morning, on the dot, every single night. she exclaimed, "i saw it! i swear i did...". she envisioned a monster, it had no specific appearance, it was just there, outside her bedroom window staring in at her. like a silhouette lurking on the outside of her bedroom windowsill. the bedroom contained only two beautiful wooden oak drawer sets, a king sized bed accompanied by a gorgeous black and white floral duvet set, a grey sitting desk and a standing lamp in the corner of her room. the room was quite large. although, no matter where in the room you placed the bed, it could always be seen from the outside of her large glass window. for a while now she had been seeing this strange something mysterious. nova's mother had taken her to every doctor, therapist, even scientist in the whole country, not one of them could tell them what was wrong with her. in the end, the chalked it up to just be nightmares caused by her fathers passing. not to say that she gave up. julia winters is a very complicated, driven woman who is incredibly stubborn when it comes to situations she feels passionate about. she would do anything to get what she wanted. Julia had warm hazel brown eyes, long chocolatey brunette curls and skin as soft as butter. every night, like clockwork, her daughter would wake up screaming, she would walk into the room, sit calmly on the bed and say "it was all a vivid dream". julia didn't believe her daughter and her "stories". in her mind, she believed nova was just doing what every child did, make up things for attention. for example, nova's so-called imaginary friend. so, after a while, she stopped caring and instead focused on what stories they would make up next to tell the neighbours. by now, the neighbours were oddly familiar to the noise of the screams, they just werent aware she was seeing someone - or something - right outside her very own bedroom window. the landlord was most often a lovely man but out of fear of losing his clients, he convinced nova and her mother that it would scare the neighbours into thinking that both their houses are haunted, and cause them to move out, so he threatened them with eviction if they ever told the neighbours the undeniable truth. from then on, the neighbours believed nova had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. nova's overprotective mother even went to the extreme lengths of blackmailing her doctor into writing up a fake doctors note to persuade the neighbours. they were quite gullible so that made it fairly easy to get them to accept it. at age fourteen, nova pondered the idea that at long last she was finally getting better, things appeared to be going admirably for her - meaning she saw it less. in the moments when she would vision the dreadful monster, she would take a visit to her therapist - brian - and he told her every single time that it was just post traumatic stress from previous episodes that she had endured (yes, julia concvjnced even the therapist that nova was diagnosed with bpd) all though, of course, the neighbours were confused as to how she suddenly started getting better, julia explained that athena had been put on new medication that had been working wonders for her.

7 years later... nova was older now. the great age of 21. an adult. she had an amazing life of her own now. she planned to open her own library. she passed high school and college and university with flying colours. march 26: she was holding hands with the love of her life, devine (or devvy for short), walking down the isle, at the wedding of her dreams, with every intention of marrying this most perfect woman. beside her, linked to her hands was a woman just slightly taller than her, with long, ginger waves and bright blue eyes like the ocean. they stood so in love, facing towards each other, hand in hand underneath the most beautiful archway decorated with bewitching flowers that gave off the most entrancing aroma. turn in turn, they performed their vows and were gladly announced woman and wife. nova thought to herself 'finally, my life is so perfect with this woman who i love and adore more than anything before and who loves me and listens to me even if i bore her to death and i cant even begin to explain how relieved i feel as i rid of the thing that bothered me for so many unbearable nights. maybe all i needed was my devine. my saving grace.' the...
