Little Pleasures
1. A cool wintry december night, a small bonfire and music outside;
Surrounding it, me and my four friends
With a cup of hot extra milky coffee, warming our rather numb hands.
A family of two little owlets and their mum,
Staring at us, their wide round eyes rather suspicious.
And we staring back at them with utmost delight
Telling ourselves we are lucky,
To spot a spotted owl family perching on the big neem tree
Shining under the moonlight.
For they, are a very rare sight,
In this big city.
2.
A cold afternoon, with a mild sun;
Me and my friends skipping class,
Sunbathing with our legs stretched,
Sitting on artificial grass;
Complaining; how it should have been cool dew-drenched,
Real grass.
Oh! Now I miss our university campus.

That was a whole different world it seems. Cause that was then
and this is now. PANDEMIC.
People are dying.
Yes! It is horrible, but I promised to stick to the pleasures only.
3.
The silence increased,
The pollution decreased
And in came the birds, the bees and the greenery,
Thinking, where did the annoying humans go?
I think they were rather pleased;
Seeing us all caged in our homes,
Only peeping from the windows.
4.
Home!
After 5 long years.
An early winter morning, with sunlight glistening
Me and my parents,
With hot tea and biscuits, sitting on the balcony;
Listening to the cooing of pigeons and buzzing of bees,
Hovering over sunflowers and daises.

Well! I finally found my peace.
In Little Pleasures, it seems.
