Every window in the room sounded like it was being banged on. The kid quickly covered his ears, sat down on the floor with his legs crossed and started rocking back and forth while saying "not again, please not again!" repeatedly.
I went to one of the windows in order to confirm the situation.
I moved the curtains just about half way so I could see through the window. And yes, as I thought, they were there, painting the other side of the window red. Hearing the kid panicking, I approached him to try to calm him down.)

"Hey, hey, hey, hey! Don't worry. Nothing is going to happen to you, as long as you are in here, nothing is going to happen. I'm here too so if anyone tries to hurt you I won't let them ok?"

"Ok. "

After 30 minutes, the darkness passed like a storm.

(Dammit, I'm so hungry that I barely have energy left!)

"Kid! Do you have any food to eat?"

"I just finished the last food I had right before you arrived. "

"But there is a department store nearby from here. We can go get some food there."
