Yes, Carol,no one could believe how such a friendship is present in this world. It was before Christmas eve when they decided to buy presents for each other and keep it as a surprise.
They also made a challenge that the one who reaches home first would open the gift first.
One day before Christmas, during evening, they went on two different ways, each with one of their classmates.
It was too late.
Just 15 minutes to 12 and the beginning of the eve. And the door opened.
She came first and was happy that she would open the gift first. She went inside and kept the gift under the Christmas tree.
After few minutes, the door bell ranged.
She ran hurriely to open the door.
As she opened the door she stood silent.
It was her classmate who went with her friend Mary.
She asked,"Why are you holding her gift and clothes. Where is Mary?"
The classmate replied, "I am sorry I could not save her. She had an accident and she died at that moment.
She called your name even till her last breath...
