Waited On Losing You
I sauntered outside your place
Yearning to catch a glimpse of your beautiful face

Hours sailed by, I still didn't see
My impatience was battling to be set free

I locked my stare on your doorstep
My wishes of your presence, chaotically crept

A stalker eyeing your window, am not
I just find comfort in your existence, no creepy plot

I used to see you often and hope for your smile
You showed disinterest after our mistaken stare, hostile

I made a brave attempt at greeting a 'Hi!' over a party wine
Debating to take it further to ask you, to be forever mine

I figured you wouldn't find the likes of me
You were the work of art, I don't deserve you see

So I passed the time hoping you would somehow approach me
I know, this thought was not very chivalrous and gentlemanly

And it began, this waiting routine by your place
To build up my bravery, to finally propose an alliance, to your beautiful face

I begin to phantomly question, have I got the wrong house?
I did see you reside here in the past, so no suspicions, did arouse

I still keep time aside to glance at your porch
Endless, hours, outside I stand and watch

You seem to continue doing on me, a Houdini
Sometimes, I feel you know and do it intentionally

I sigh and vow that this is my last wait
Turn on my heels and walk way, thinking of your hate

As my shadow is far in distance, disappearing
I chance upon a tombstone, frozen in misunderstanding

Your name catches my eyes, its mentioned clear
Its engraved facts show me, you've been laid long here

I couldn't contain to keep my tears flow in line
When I read, in fine print underneath; I waited for you to say, 'Be Forever Mine'
