Write a short story from your past that involves light or darkness in some way.
I hadn’t noticed that spot on my mattress until now. Surprising for someone sewn into the fibers of the cover. The window was open just a crack but it was enough to let me see it. The wet spot i hadn’t felt come from eyes i haven’t opened in a day. The sun cut through my room like a slice of perspective I hadn’t had in months. The clarity of the moment made me think back to how all consumed I’d become with heart aches and his last name not being mine in any future. I wanted to feel the heat of the sun on me. I stretched out my fingers, slowly unraveling from their balled catatonic state. Lightly, warmth hit me. And so slowly from the depths of a dark mind turned room I emerged into the light of a new opportunity to guide my own way.
