Loveless
#WritcoStoryPrompt1

Lethe looked at his men in disgust as he pulled out the sword from his chest. He looked at the sword and stuck it in the marble floor. He glared at them and left the room.  The men hurried forward, stumbling over each other trying to get out of the room.  No one said a word as they went back to their bunks.
Lethe slammed his door shut and looked at the hole in his chest. Frustration and embarrassment filled him and crimson tears streamed down his face.
"I'm pathetic." he muttered. "I can't even control my own men."
He opened a bottle and started drinking until it was empty.  He opened another bottle and started drinking again.  Bottle after bottle, he kept drinking. By morning,  25 bottles laid on the floor empty. Lethe slowly got up and walked outside. His men stood at attention and nervously glanced at each other.
"everyone, 200 push-ups. Now." everyone got down in push-up position.
"on my count. Down. Up. "
The army counted together and were worn out by the time they finished.
"30 laps. And if I see anyone lagging behind, I will make it 100 laps." the man started to run.
As they finished, Lethe pulled out his whip.
"I'm disappointed in all of you." He said. "those who confronted my father, you know better than to do that. Those who stayed behind,  you should've gotten me." Lethe cracked his whip and everyone flinched.
"all of you have made a fool out of me AND IN FRONT OF MY FATHER NO LESS. " Lethe shouted. He continued.
"if it had been my brother,  he would've taught you a simple lesson,  and you all are damn lucky that my father was drunk.  He had been sober,  those who confronted him would barely make it out alive. Part of me thinks I let you off too easy. Do not make me think other wise.  Do I make myself clear?"
"YES SIR." came a unified response.
Lethe went back to his office and started picking up the bottles.
There was a knock on the door.
"I'm busy.  Come back later."
The door opened and Exes stepped in.
"I'm not in the mood right now,  Exes." Lethe growled.
"I came here to see if you were all right."
"I'm fine." Lethe said sharply.  He put the bottles in the trash.
Exes sighed and left the room.
"Exes,  wait." Lethe called out. Exes came back I to the room.
"be honest with me, was it too soon for me to join the military? To become a leader?"
"if I'm being honest yes,  but the best experiences come from those who keep learning."
"but to have a whole legion of insubordination,on our father no less.  They were luck I stepped in, even luckier that dad was drunk as he was.... "
"how drunk was he?" exes asked.
Lethe went silent.
"Lethe,  how drunk was he?"
"you remember when I went to earth right after that no booze law was put into act,  and I brought back the first bottle illegally sold?"
"yes."
"and the time after that same law was stopped and I brought back the first bottle legally bought?"
"yes why?"
And the first bottles of scotch,  vodka, whiskey,  and champagne I got before that?"
"Ya.  Why?"
"he got into them and drank ALL of them."
Exes sighed.
"well,  that man can hold his alcohol."
"that is true."

Lethe took out a bottle and sat on the curb and drank There was something about earth and the traffic passing by that always calmed him down.  No one in heaven could find him,  and no one in hell knew who he was.  He walked down the sidewalk and took another swig.  He sighed. Aside from the incident with his men,  and  the talk with his brother,  he had never felt more upset and stressed in his life...... However long that was.  Time was something the humans had created.  Even god agreed that he couldn't wrap his head around it.  By the time lethe turned down an ally,  the bottle was empty.  He sighed and threw it in the trash.  He came up to a pub and decided to go in.  He showed his ID to the bar tender and asked for a whisky.
"leave the bottle please."
"everything OK bud?" the bartender asked.
"rough week." Lethe replied. He took of his trench coat and put it on the bar.
"real question is why would an angle be on earth serving a demon?" there was silence which confirmed Lethes suspicion.
"why would my ex boyfriend even care about a lowlife like me?"
"three milinias, and this the hello I get? " the angle replied.
"i don't know Raphael" Lethe replied back.
"you clearly hated me after i left with Lucifer."
"you could've stayed." Raphael replied handing Lethe another bottle.
"I have no form. God took that away from me.  He had always hated me. Don't tell me otherwise.  We both know im telling the truth. Besides,  I wouldn't have survived."
Raphael was silent.
"so your dating sameul."
"you know I couldn't do that.  You literally tore out my heart and crushed.  I saw the joy in your eyes as you crushed it in front of all the Angles."
Raphael remind silent.
"one thing I love about earth is that no one in heaven knows where I am,  and no one in hell knows who I am."
Lethe payed and put on his trench coat with the flame of betrayal burning bright in his chest.
"see you on the battle field,  Angle of Vengeance."
"like wise,  Angle of Despair. " Lethe turned around and left
