Growing up was exciting and adventurous, there was no dull moments as every event was an occasion to cherish and savor. one thing that stand vividly glaring was the school life, which was a thing to get involved in. back then, going to school had a mixed feeling especially on the beginning of a new session or the first day in a new school. The whole event, ushered in a wave of renewed vigor for those students and Pupils who had either done their assignment or prepared in advance for that moment. But for others who are behind in their task, it was a moment to be panicky and distraught about the whole ordeal.

In those good old days, education was of paramount importance. I still recount vividly, parents taking cover in bushes and farms whenever they sensed that Education authory official would be going from house to house to inspect homes that refused to enroll their children or wards in schools. Those were the days when we had respect for education, when even the government gave serious attention to the educational well being of the citizens of the country. That was the era when the handlers of education were up and working, performing their functions with all due diligence and high standard of inspection and supervision of schools. The curriculum was of world class comparable to any developed country's educational curriculum.
With the passage of time and the coming of a new generation, things began to take a twist. The same people who once enjoyed and benefited from the well Tailored educational system, became the destroyers of the system bred them. Malpractices crept into the school systems, the educational bodies began to focus more on their selfish aggrandizement at the detriment of the students. The system began to produce ill-equipt products that couldn't make meaningful contributions to the national development.
A once prosperous nation and an envy of the continent, became an eye-sore. It over time slide downward and backwards, retrogressing from 'developing' to 'under developing'.
