talking back
Nicole was Rachel's only child. Rachel had her out of wedlock. She and her then-boyfriend conceived her when she was 16. She decided to keep the child. She worked and her mom watched her while she was at work.
She was a very happy baby. They were very close.
She eventually got an apartment. She went off on her own. She and her daughter were close when she was little. It all changed when she entered her teen years. She talked back all the time. She was defiant. She fought her on everything.
She got in trouble at school. She got good grades but got suspended several. times. she buried other kids. She talked back to the teachers. She even threatened staff.
She got counseling at school. Rachel took her to a counselor. Nothing seemed to work. The situation seemed to be getting worse, not better.
Rachel was at her whit's end. She had no idea what to do. She was getting uncontrollable.
Rachel did not like how she was acting. Sge tried to talk to her about it. They had a pizza night and she attempted to reason with her. Nothing came of it. She acted worse. It had the opposite effect.
She tried to punish her. She sent her to her room. She took away her privileges. Nothing had any effect. She was at a total loss.
She looked at old photo albums. She looked at pictures of when she was a baby. When she was a toddler and a young ladt. They were so close. So happy. Was it because she worked. Was it because she never really her dad? Was it because they moved out of her parent's home. She wanted her little girl back. She had no idea how to get her back.
She was feeling down. She never left the house. She got a babysitter for Nicole and went to a bar. She never went to bars very often. By the time she could legally drink, nicky was five years old. The desire to do the bar scene was mostly out of her system. She liked to go on occasion. This was one of those occasions.
She wanted to forget all that was going on. This was not the right way of handling things but this was what she did. She sat at the bar. She was not sure if she was looking for a guy or not. She was testing the waters as they were. She did now know why she was there. She did not know what she was looking for.
She ordered a drink. Her drink arrived. She took a sip.
A man came up to her. "I have not seen you here before," he said. "I have not been here before. Well, not in some time," she admitted. "I am glad you here," he said.
He was not particularly impressive. His pick-up lines were very clique. She was lonely. He was giving...
