ETERNAL YEARNING OF THE MOON

Once upon a dream, a long long time ago,
When the earth that we call home was just the dark,
Two lovers glanced upon the other, dazzled by each glow,
And found together they could make a spark

One lover held a beam so bright but never saw it shine,
For there was only dark in its reflection
He spent his moments wandering through all of space and time,
For through the dark he felt such a rejection

One moment he did glance upon a glow beyond the stars,
It filled him with a fire that kept on burning
For the first time in eternity he felt a hidden spark,
And that fire filled him with the heat of yearning.

The other lover was a lonely sphere of missing dreams;
Had spent forever drifting in the ether;
And when she glanced upon the force that made her waters steam,
Her lonely centre struggled to believe it

It seemed to take a lifetime for this love to gravitate,
For there was such a pushing force between,
And every time one lover thought they'd reached their one true mate
They found that truth was lost upon the stream

Forever they are moving to touch truth in the sky,
But never will they truly ever meet,
For the push between the two creates the energy of life;
A life born of the waters and the heat

They had to keep their distance, their power far too strong;
Both lonely lovers filled with hope so sweet;
Caused one to yearn a fire that now burns forever on
And the other she did weep her waters deep

The waters dropped in rivers on a dark and thirsty earth;
It spread throughout the lifeless holes around;
Then the passion from the heat, created by the burn,
Radiated through the rocky grounds

In that moment there was life; the lovers borne their steam.
Their yearning had created such a force
The power of the two energised the stream;
Their universal need had found its cause

They do not fight the pull no more, they feel through all creation
They understand their plight was for the yearn
The life below they see is their loving celebration;
Forever giving love for its return

So now they keep their distance just watching over love,
And very briefly they do get to glance
The other in reflection, a love of pure divine,
But forever now they live their life in dance

For eternity she cries in the darkness of that truth,
But her lover will return her tears forever,
So when the rain falls down and the heat comes shining through,
Know the rainbow that you see, they made together.
