A Drop Of Water
A Zen master named Gisan Zenkai asked a young student to bring him a pail of water to cool his bath. The student brought the water and after cooling the bath, threw onto the ground the little that was left over. "You dunce! Why didn't you give the rest of the water to the plants? What right have you to waste even one drop of water in this temple?" The young student attained Zen in that instant. He changed his name to Tekisui, which means "a drop of water."
Lesson: Writing the most out of your mental and pysical capabilities. Don't throw away even a single drop (of sweat) by holding yourself back. Attend to the little details in your preparation. Make the best of every situation. Rather than getting upset at having to wait for an open practice court, take the time left waiting in the parking lot to strech or warm-up.
