Author's P.O.V

This small girl with trembling hands avoiding eyes of the boy standing before her spoke in a low tone while fiddling with her fingers and holding back her tears.

"M-My dad..he wants to harm you , f-for me.."

Nathan froze at his place , Duke Espret wanting to harm him ? and that too for Julia ? This was wierd , he knew the Duke didn't like him but not enough to harm him.

"Why? Did I ever offend him or you in any manner?"

He spoke his eyes glitning with curiosity rather than being scared . He never wished for a prolonged life , his hopes, dreams were all shattered when he lived as a slave , now he desires nothing.

"I- I can't tell you now , but please don't hate me , after knowing the truth."

Julia spoke with her shaking voice, Nathan with his sensitive ears heard people coming towards his room , which was out of the ordinary as his room was the last one in the corridor and no one comes here other than sister Mary.

Nathan looked at Julia as she also heard the noise and started shaking and trembling more .

"Please run away we don't have time."

She spoke and Nathan feeling that something is really wrong clenched on the bag , pondering over what to do , he looked at Julia in urgency.

"I hope you are not playing with me , or I swear there will be serious consequences for this."

He looked back at the window pulling her inside the room closing the door and looked out of the window taking a deep breath.

"I will leave from here , you stay here ."

Julia's expressions were too transparent as she felt the nervousness and was visibly scared for Nathan but before she could say anything , Nathan jumped out of the window , and her mouth opened in surprise as she looked down from the window.

Nathan ran towards the exit of the church when he felt a sharp pain in his right hand and turned his head towards his right seeing an arrow pierced on his right arm.

"ugh"

looking back he saw sister Mary standing there from afar looking at him coldly a bow in her hand . Nathan's eyes widened in shock.
