One day, three friends, Didi, Dada and Dodo, decided to create a joint venture business in opening a bakery. They pooled their savings and opened a small outlet downtown. They sold all sorts of pastries, bread and buns.
The first two weeks of operation was smooth. They had a brisk business and all of them were delighted with their success. But their happiness was short-lived. A new bakery opened up across the street and was bustling with customers. Everyone was raving about the superb baked goods. That infuriated the trio.
The envious trio spread rumours about the credibility of their rival. This made the bakery bankrupt. Then they had an idea to triple their profits and bring business back. They used inferior materials like low grade eggs, flour, sugar and cheap butter. Didi even suggested using expired cream. Nobody would be able to detect any discrepancy. But their products were absolutely inferior and awful.
By the third month, people stopped dropping in. They had not made a sale the whole week. With rent and utility bills to pay, they decided to wrap up the business. With debts in hand, Didi, Dodo and Dada wrapped up their business and left town in the middle of the night.
